DuPage County is located in the Western Suburbs of Chicago
The Accident Reconstruction Team was formed in 1998.
The Canine Response Unit (CRU) was formed in 2005. Officer Dan Ramirez of Oak Brook PD was instrumental in forming this unit.

Team History

FIAT was formed as a Major Case Unit. Hence the acronym FIAT: Felony Investigative Assistance Team. FIAT was founded in 1978 by Bolingbrook (Chief William Charnisky), Darien (Chief David Kohnke), Lisle (Chief James Munroe) , Naperville (Chief James Teal), Warrenville (Chief Chester Hall), and Woodridge (Chief James Keyes) Police Departments. 

The SWAT team was formed in 1998, and Ron Campo was the first commander.
